Description So apparently the treefrogs that live around my house had about a million babies. I swear they're all over the place! I had three hitchhikers one morning when I headed out in my car to school, and the plant beside my car is swarming with the little things. At least one actually hopped right inside the house tonight, and then disappeared. If he hopped into one of the rat cages, no more treefroglet. ._.;

I sniped some pictures of the babies in the plant beside the car. Here's three of about seventeen I counted in one go. If anyone can identify what kind of treefrogs they are, please let me know!

aaaaw how fun! I wouldn't mind a treefrog infestation, frogs are cute xD (as opposed to the infestations we get around here. Did I tell you about the time we pulled 72 ticks off our dog? )

I tried using my dad's North American field guide to figure out their species, but no luck :/
The field guide only has photos of asult frogs, maybe juvenile frogs have different markings?

Well, these guys have actually been losing that black stripe on their heads. I'm kinda more inclined to believe they're Cuban Treefrogs, which are bad things because they're nonnative that kill native dudes. >.>

uh oh really? D:
that would explain why they're not in my field guide though xD;

you should upload some updated pictures-- then we can ~see how they've grown~
think a vet would be able to ID them for sure?

Not unless the vet's an expert on frogs. Even then, they'd probably use some kind of textbook. I show the photo to a girl in our tech program who loves reptiles and things like that, and she thought they were leopard treefrogs, but their head shape doesn't really match up with that.

I like the last one in line he's loking at the camera as if to say, "wtf are you doing? Can i help you?"

x) They're pretty cool. Actually, it looks like they've started to lose the black stripes on their heads already, even though it's only been four days since I took this picture!

I think they might be Pinewoods Treefrogs. It's hard to really say, because they come in so many different colours and whatnot, but the dark stripe thing on their eyes is similar.

Hmmm, that's a good idea, but I don't recognise the call that's available on that website. I'm leaning way more toward calling then Green Treefrogs because I recognise the calls I've found on those guys, but I can't find any pictures of the young ones that look like these guys. Then I'm thinking they might be Cuban Treefrogs, but again, I don't recognise the call they make.

I know. It's really hard to tell certain frogs apart just by a picture because they don't just like to stay one hue and such. xP
