Chantrea for Chael's contest ^_^ I really wanted to color this, but being in the middle of moving out of state makes that really hard. She's jumping out of the water to snatch a few feathers from the birds. Pearls and seashells just don't make impressive jewelry when you can find them lying in your front yard ^_~Related content

I can understand why colour might look good with this but at the same time the black and white is breath taking. Like someone taking a photograph durring the early dawn to prove they saw something even if it's just to themselves. The detail is amazing! Not only with the fins and pattens but how you've captured the hair and used your shading to create patterns, shadows and light. The birds are a lovely touch and you've captured both the panic on the sea birds face at being caught and the concern on the mermaids face as she doesn't want to hurt the creature, only take a feather to remember it by.

oh my dear lord.. the detail of this is phenomanal.. and dude.. I love how far from the stereotypical mermaid she is! absolutely stunning piece.. if you get time later I would love to see it in color!!
