This is my second entry for the concept art internship over at Tantus games.This is a matte painting of a valley in two seasons, spring and winter. It is surrounded by tall mesas and in the center, a primeval forest.

neet, never made a map painting before.... what kind of res do you need for that kind of image?

Any good high res photo, i would say 2k by 2k is a nice minimum for the base. Although I have seen some pros go as high 4k+. I say, go as high as possible without hurting your computer.
