Vesper hated her mother, seeing her as a coward who can't even grow a spine, which wasn't entirely wrong. She refused to listen to all the shitty lies Heaven told her, and instead disobeyed her rules of staying in the castle for her "safety", hating how the kingdom has become in Heaven's reign. She was extra pissed when Heaven attempted to trap Vesper in The Forest Of Certain Death, which caused Vesper to slap her mother in the face, essentially disowning her in the process. When Heaven did eventually see the error of her ways and committed suicide, Vesper, while initially crying about her death, was mostly indifferent to the whole situation, instead being focused on bringing the Butterfly Kingdom out of the Dark Ages, and setting things right once and for all.
