Description Margo Lane couldn't help but smile even as she scolded her best friend, Argyle the Dog for playfully nipping at her heels again as they took their afternoon walk while window shopping in Racks View.  He just looked so happy and she knew he couldn't wait to do it again.  Ever since he was a puppy, Argyle loved shoes and the feet that wear them.  He considered them his own personal play toys and he when he's in a playful mood, no shoe was safe.  The only thing he loved more than shoes was going on walks.  Most likely, Margo surmised, because it gave him moving targets.

Thanks very much  I believe it was an unnamed Australian boy who was quoted with saying "Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are."  I fully believe Margo is that type of person

Awesome new character my friend! She looks to be an outstanding new addition to Racks View. Nice to see a pet person here as well. I can tell her playfulness is going to add a lot to the City!

Okay, I admit it! It's a good composition (although I hate moules, especially when they're fritted).

The expression on dog's face is spot on! (I had a Jack Russell that gave up walking, preferring to travel as passenger in my sidecar and you don't argue with a Jack Russell)

hehe... the menu sign came with the bistro prop I used.  Didn't even know what moules frites were... just looked 'em up.  "Steamed muscles and french fries".  What an odd combination (at least to this American).

Glad you like this  She seemed to me to be the energetic fun-loving person that's going to have an energetic fun-loving dog (total opposite of a Baughurst, which is a term coined by Douglas Adams in his dictionary-book "Meaning of Liff" as "That type of large, fierce, ugly woman who owns a small, fierce, ugly dog." ).

Baughurst    .... Me and the old VW Camper once camped there (very beautiful)! Methinks Mr Adams was tricking our American cousins. As for the Moules, I prefer the Spanish word "Mejillones", that strong J makes them sound as disgusting as they really are! Why buy a 1kg of anything if you plan to throw 800g away?

Lovely pic!

I'm sure it's lovely there, but there's method to the madness... Fom the book:

In Life*, there are many hundreds of common experiences, feelings, situations and even objects which we all know and recognize, but for which no words exist.

On the other hand, the world is littererd with thousands of spare words which spend their time doing nothing but loafing about on signposts pointing at places.

Our job, as wee see it, is to get these words dow off the signposts and into the mouths of babes and sucklings and so on, where they can start earning their keep in everyday conversation and make a more positive contribution to society.

Douglas Adams

Super interesting link....And I've been to quite a few of those words! (Never heard of the book b4
I notice there's no entry for "Titty-Ho" (Quite difficult to put a definition to that I suppose )

Gotta love a dog that loves shoes...or hate him.  I gave away a puppy once for tearing up my new shoes.  Well, he also ate the cable, the carpet, and almost anything else he could chew.
Anyway, a very clever and cute scene.

NICELabs In reply to subvirgins [2013-10-28 10:56:22 +0000 UTC]

Thanks hon   I hope you named him Jaws  This one isn't so distructive.  I kind of see Argyle as the kind who has a pair of shoes he calls his that he chews on and plays with and fetches and such.  All others he knows not to really damage, but he'll go after them when playing.

subvirgins In reply to NICELabs [2013-10-28 17:29:30 +0000 UTC]

lol. No I didn't name him "Jaws" but it is a fitting name.  He went to a good home and they named him something else.  Argyle and his master look very happy together so I'm sure he's a good boy.
