It's Official!This is the unadorned full cover art for a book I just finished illustrating for Disney: The Curse of Maleficent, a tie-in YA novel for the upcoming movie! The book is up for pre-order on Amazon, and will be out at the end of the month. The final hardcover has 25 full-color interior illustrations that I'll be sharing some of as well. Such a blessing to be able to work on this- I hope you guys like it!

WOW! This is so beautiful! I love the warm glow around Aurora and the fairies and other woodland creatures, and how it contrasts with Maleficent in the darkness. You have a wonderful art style, and I can't wait until the book comes out so I can check out more of it!

You Know something? It always feels great to buy a book by an artist you've been following. Why? Because it's a little something of theirs you can keep and adore, be it for the art of the story. Usually it both though so it's even better. I will DEFINITELY buy this! Pre-Ordering it!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Mishap on preorder, I had to fix my car..Sorta.(I lost a tire, like someone stole it of my car??? How does that even makes sense?). But awesomeness happened when my mother had it for me in my easter basket(She listened! Unusual sense her hearing is kinda off and she ditzy). My brother is horribly jealous ( I'll let him read it...later) and I am absolutely thrilled by how well you've captured the story!!! I love Maleficent at the beginning just gazing up at the stars and how you contrasted her eyes so...startling I think is the word. Yes, startling from the rest of her.
And your faeries are wonderful, though someone thought they were trolls. (Then I realized they had never seen a disney movie in there life. How deprived especially now that he watches My Little Pony to make up for it..he said that not me. I didn't even think it.) One of my favorites of course is the very last in the book, that simple blissful look with her grand wings and a setting sun is just gloriously beautiful. You've made me even more excited to see the movie!
One last thing though, I keep going back to the chapter where the rotten faeries( I know better but I find them kinda rotten, But the picture you drew of them with Aurora was lovely, again a favorite.) and rereading Maleficent's part and then stare at the one you did of her kissing Aurora. And I have to say of every one you did it is my favorite. You did a marvelous job with this and Disney should pay you extra for it. I can't think of anyone portraying it as amazingly as you have. ...you know, I wouldn't really be interested (at least until the movie has come out and I've formulated a final opinion there), but if it has YOUR art I might have to pick it up for the pure an unadulterated shiny...'cause really...shiny!
