Oh, I finally saw this movie on Sunday (though I'd actually read the original book a few years ago)! This is so pretty! The watercolors were a great choice for a story with so much water in it!

Really? I do think there's something lacking in the movie too but I can't pinpoint what it is exactly. Maybe a sense of child-like wonder is missing as the other movies have? Totoro and Spirited Away have that sort of aura.
I guess it's because Miyazaki isn't in this production anymore, or so I've read.

Ooh, I gotta see this.
You know, my dad lived in a house like that when he was really young.

Wow! Do you still go there? I have an aunt who lives by a beach. We used to go there before when I was in high school, my dad and I. But her place isn't like the Marsh House and the beach there is a bit dirty, but I enjoyed my visits nonetheless.
We stopped going there when I entered college and people became busier.

Whoaaaaaaa.....that's different. In terms of the image, it makes the person in focus seem like the main character, when the owner of the hand is the true focus of the story. Well done to disguise the true story behind the art. Will watch ASAP XD

The blue makes this whole picture seem so calm and makes me want to find a marsh and a house.

It looks really nice, dream like. The expression and mood are somber, probably even more emotions for those who saw the film.
