I went to Merloquet Falls yesterday instead of work. Because f*ck it, I needed some nature! It was a long bus ride, but well worth it. I only captured one part of this picturesque falls. It's also my first time painting on the spot (even used water from the falls). I. Am. Satisfied. For now.Decided to include the City Hall drawing to the left. I drew it from inside a fast food chain on the opposite side of the street. It was Labor Day, so I had free time to do random things.
Hey, you guys watching the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight today? I ain't.
Oh, expect everyone to suddenly become boxing enthusiasts and expert analysts after the fight. (And that is why I don't have a Facebook account).

Looks amazing as always. Β Does painting at the scene instead of looking at a photo make a huge difference to you? Β If so, how much has it impacted your experience?
On a sillier note... Β To quote a generic custom 1960's Spiderman meme... Β "Everyone's talking about the Pacquiao VS. Mayweather fight, and I'm just sitting here masturbating." Β I see those promotional commercials on crunchyroll all the time, and it's not even relevant to what I enjoy. Β They should have a quick questionnaire you can fill out to help filter advertisements, because I am not switching to premium.

Drawing/Painting on the spot gives me a sort of intimate connection with the place/scenery. It's like I'm putting the experience itself into paper, and what is produced may not be as exact as a photograph, but it has more of "me" in it. The feeling isn't really there if I'm just drawing from a photo. It's what the camera saw, not what I saw. It's kinda weird.
Haha! Yeah, not everyone's so hyped up about the fight. And here in our place, everyone's bummed about Pacquiao's loss. Well, I guess Mayweather had a "strategy", and in the end, a win is a win. But I think if you're the champ, you should go out there and give people something worth watching.Β
