I know right? They could've given her a ditto saga where each new ditto she catches represents a part of her personality or perspectives on the world, and how she would rather choose to train her dittos (which are theorized to be failed experiments of Mew) then pursue the perfect Mew, because just as her ditto's, she can have her failures because shes a human. Along with that, they could've thrown in some imiteshipping(ash x duplica) because in my opinion, ash and duplica have a nice chemistry together. Theyre the same age, they both have similar goals(her being a ditto master, and ashes being a poke master), and they're both smart trainers that can hold their own. Plus, i always found it cute how Duplica teased Ash with the ashy boy line, which would probably make her the motherly yet sort of obnoxious figure of the group. And her abilties to imitate people could've been fleshed out so nicely in scenarios where they might have to sneak in and investigate strange facilities or whatever. Those are some ideas, and i will say that its possible i might make these ideas into an actual fanfic one day, because now that i look back on this character, i see the hidden potential that she could've had.
