Absolutely beautiful Nick, it very much reminds me of =sumopiggy in style, but of course in your own way. 
The starfield is minimal yet well done & helps the compositional focus, the bordering & placing of text is not distracting, so that it compliments the piece which is good. The planets have great texturing & crispness, something im always a fan of. & the nebulae? What can i say, that blows me away man, the details, colour usage, everything from the dark matter to the light, & too how it flows & fades out, is all top quality work! 
Conceptually to me, it feels like the light is reaching towards the darkness, as if searching for something hidden or unknown, to behold the light, either to contradict to its presence or ascend towards is bringing of life. Planets & stars are like objects ascended to its realm in semiperfection, like apprentices to the light. Oh well this is what i see in it, very dramatic.

i guess that the nebula took like a few hours to paint.
so that means, that it took 6 hours or more.

How long to make this you say, I'd guess on somewhere around 10 hours perhaps

But man, how do you make these awesome space pics all together? I heard there was a program that lets you create planets, and then the artists who do these make the stars and other stuff with photoshop.
I'd really love to get into this--You do some supreme stuff.
