oh also can I ask what medium this is? The black is so wonderfully uniform. I always have a hard time getting black to be nice and even like that with traditional media.

Well, I cheat. I darken the blacks and brighten the whites after I scan the image. Otherwise everything would be faded and green.
In person, the ink I use to fill is much lighter than the ink I use for the lines. I have never been able to get a consistent black, be it either texture or color depth, is never the same. Some pens that I use for filling dry glossy, others matte.
The only way around this I know of is to use the same pen for everything, or varnish it to make the texture uniform.

This particular drawing as done with a Koh-I-Noor Nexus art pen. With it you can change the line width and texture really easily. It also has very dark ink, which is better for consistency than lighter ink.
