Description these are some illustrations for my comic "Till the end of days" (the apocalyptic horsemen one) in some Art nouveau style, which I find extremely funny to work with ;D

The comic is finally done for print, so I will show it to you when I have printed some out!

and whoo, this is my 500th deviation!

Ur welcome ^_^

Yeah it's nothing big because I actually was dumb enough to leave all my art supplies at school so for break I've only had a mechanical pencil & a crappy eraser xD but hopefully I'll finish it and have it on here soon. dA's been a little empty lately it seems.

Oh and I was gonna tell you that I finally watched Let The Right One In! It definitely seemed maybe more violent but I kept thinking about how I thought the boy looked so much like the US version of the kid! But with blonde hair lol he seemed more cockier or something in the original but it was still cool. Any other cool Swedish movies you'd recommend?

Nico-Mac In reply to 1kornygrrl [2013-01-04 23:36:55 +0000 UTC]

Oh nice! I'm glad you liked it too The only thing I could think about that kid is that he had a horrible haircut .___. and it sounds way funnier then it is when he says "skrik som en gris" XD

hmm, cool movies.... Well there's the Millenium trilogy (I watched the American version and thought it kinda sucked >_>) then there is another pretty good vampire horror-ish one that's called "Frostbiten" (frost bitten)... Or any of the Wallander movies, they're pretty good... And Änglagård, a really cozy comedy starring Rikard Wolff, the owner of the sexiest voice on this planet... next to Alan Rickman yeah, I could go on for quite a while, so I'll stop now =w=

i was gonna ask you what that meant but then i used google translate xD and which one did you think have a horrible haircut? the original or remake?

well yeah i love the Millenium trilogy and yay u watched our version to see how much it sucked! lol i DID however like Daniel Craig's portrayal of Mikael because i pictured him to look more like him but still the originals are better. I slowed down on reading the trilogy and IM STILL ON THE THIRD ONE. But i've got only less than 100 pages! lol but ok i'll definitely look those up. I just love foreign films. And haha Alan Rickman xD he's cool.

the original, and I just though he had a funny way too say his lines XD

The one thing that bugged me most about that remake was that they all kept the original names on people, but no one (except Stellan Skarsgård) could pronounce them right. It sounded so weird when everyone called him Mikael (pronounced Mi-khel) instead of just calling him Micheal XD

then I wish you good luck with finishing them

I'm just glad I could help and yes, yes he is =w=

Well I guess since they were still sticking to how the book was with characters then they figured to still use the Swedish names but idk if u remember this but they ask Mikael how to pronounce his last name and they say it completely wrong, right?

I don't really remember what they call him, but when they made the US version they missed the whole stupid punch line with his name "Kalle Blomquist", who are a fictional kid detective here. I remember they making a big mockery out of it in the book (I've read like the first fourth of the first book then got bored TwT)

yeah they constantly do that throughout the series but i don't remember them doing it or not in the US version but yeah if you read the first book it's very umm confusing in the beginning when they're just having that huge financial discussion and if that's what made you bored then i understand that lol but it got way better

lol well i might try that sometime

oh and i was gonna ask you when talking about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo about the Mikael/Kalle thing, have you ever read any of the books or whatever Kalle Blomkvist is from?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nico-Mac In reply to 1kornygrrl [2013-01-10 09:36:24 +0000 UTC]

They are books, written by Astrid Lindgren, probably the most famous author in Scandinavia, her books've been translated to a great amount of languages so you might know of her, like Pippi Longstocking for example. Anyway, I haven't read them, but I've seen the films they made when I was a kid. They were decent, but Lindgren had a thing for writing utterly obnoxious characters that as a kid, I couldn't stand (I hate Pippi Longstocking XD) so I don't remember much

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

1kornygrrl In reply to Nico-Mac [2013-01-11 04:36:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I've known of Pippi Longstocking (which they make references to that too in the Millennium series if that wasn't in the American version...I don't remember) and I think I read Pippi Longstocking once but I hardly remember it except she was tall & distructive right? But hmmm if the Kalle Blomkvist books have been translated I'd like to read those so ill get the references

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nico-Mac In reply to 1kornygrrl [2013-01-14 18:03:21 +0000 UTC]

Pippi Longstocking is a freaking brat that makes me embarrassed just to watch! There, I said it *hides from all the furious grown ups*

they should be translated, but I don't know. But he's a kid detective who likes to take matters into his own hands, so I'm guessing that's the connection they make in the book

1kornygrrl In reply to Nico-Mac [2013-01-15 02:48:48 +0000 UTC]

hahahaha i understand xD

yeah i think they mentioned that in the first book. Well, i knew he was a detective somehow. I'll try and look those up as well. Do you know of a band called Sabaton? i think? my friend was talking about them and said they were Swedish as well.

Yes, I do. I just recently went on one of their concerts too I've only herd their latest album which I think is great, but my bf is a really big fan of them so we would both recommend them their latest album has a Swedish version as well, it is glorious *w*
