Well it surely does make sense
Jayce goes for Caitlyn, but then Vi steps in and takes Cait away for their own fun ^.^ and then Jinx comes in. So yeah, this seems to fit the canon theme to me. Jinx may like Vi & Cait as play-things, but when her eyes are set on Jayce - there's more potential!
