I have to say, I like this better than the full color version. The cathedral in color is truly a feast for the eyes, but it's also almost opulent to the point of distraction. Here, the starkness of the black and white really serves to highlight the symmetry of the architecture which can be overwhelmed with all the color. Gorgeous shot!

Thank you. Yes, I like this version more as well. I think that is true that the colours while impressive simply detract to some extent from the structure and form, by the same token BW might leave it a little too flat.

Thank you...It's a really beautiful place, both the cathedral and Montreal. Its located in the old part of montreal, in many ways it feels like europe.. Yes, its a wonderful place to visit.
