Description One of my favorite shots of this costume, taken at AWA 2008 by Lionboogy! This was the convention that I debuted Vaati at, I have only worn it once since then because of the time it takes to apply makeup to my face, neck, hands, and legs! The ears were painted to match the custom-blended makeup, too. I made the entire costume, if you have any questions about construction please feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them, too!

Seriously. This is THE BEST Vaati cosplay I have seen. I'm very jealous.

(also, i see you used red flip flops with fabric added onto it, USING THIS AWESOME IDEA! Sorry if i revealed your secret!)

Thanks! And honestly it's not much of a secret lol, I think others have used it before, too. It's the best method, and they hold up really well to a lot of wear.

Can you tell me what kind of makeup you used? How well did it stay on, was it comfortable, etc? I'm gonna be cosplaying X-Men Evolution-version Nightcrawler soon and I'm not sure what kind of makeup to get.

See my above reply to YummyGamorah. As for comfort, the only discomfort (or well, more awkward than anything) is having it around my lips. I might try to match up a lipstick to the skin tone for the next time I wear this.

ah, okay cool. Sorry about asking again. But you're the second person to suggest Wolf Brothers, so I think that's what I'm gonna go with. Don't they have different types of makeup though? Like oil based or water based or something?

It's Wolf Brothers makeup, applied with a sea sponge. It yields really good results and it doesn't rub off too easily on the costume, either. I also recommend Kryolan, which I used to tan myself for Ico. It stayed on really well even when out in the Florida summer's heat which says something. I'm thinking of trying Kryolan with Vaati, it's just a matter of getting the right color (I had to custom-blend the Wolf Brother's makeup for Vaati to get the super-light purple tone).
