45 minutes! that's very long, especially for a gpu renderer... interesting

chaotica's gpu rendering is coming along really well, and i'm eager to compare against fractorium "on level ground" sometime soon. would you be interested in testing the gpu beta when it's available?

Sounds good. Id like to test chaotica, too. Some more stats of the render btw:

Image 1: Pure render time: 42m 35.29s Total time: 42m 44.97s Total iters: 207.366.389.760 Iters/second: 82.306.997
All renders completed in: 42m 45.00s.

And keep in mind my card only has 1GB VRAM, so the render used 4 strips since total memory use would've been 2,3GB.

thanks for the info; this goes a way to explaining the rendertime, and it's nice that fractorium properly handles strips! in cases like these, cpu renderers that can keep the whole image in memory effectively have a speed multiplier (eg 4x faster if using 4 strips).

hopefully i can work more on chaotica soon and finish off gpu beta, just moved to germany and will be a while before i'm settled...
