I actually like the canvas structure

I like it too, in real life that is. But I can't help but feel it disrupts the painting itself a little, because it is quite profound here in the scan. But it can't be helped, apparently.

Impressive. I love the depth of the scene and like how colors go very well with each other. Main characters are on focused points of the painting as well. Shading is perfect
