The top row is composed of the current Swords' apprentices, as well as some of their apprentices from the Missing Master Quest. The bottom row is comprised of the original swordholders and apprentices.

left to right:
top- Aquagirl, Killer Frost, Icemaiden, Freeze, Baron Blizzard, Terra, Sand, Fire, Fever, Pirahnna, Devil Ray, Shark

Aquagirl- (Reefcutter & Sharkstooth)
Daughter to the King of Atlantis, and niece to Sword of Atlantis, Kaizen(Aquaman). Umiko is chosen by Zenjiro(Aqualad) to be his apprentice, due in part to her insistance, and her father's prohibition. she is headstrong and difficult to teach, but loves her uncle & wishes to aid in his safe return.

Killer Frost- (Sword of Sommersa)
Originally apprentice to Icicle, she was constantly abused by him. during the Poseidon's Trident quest, it was revealed that his abuse included rape. Aquaman flew into a rage and was stopped from slaying him by Frost. He never trained her, but kept her around to employ as a decoy to his foes. It was also during this quest that Icicle used, not only many of his IceWeaving skills, but his most secret technique to stop one of the monsters, to save the lives of his team. After seeing this, Frost stabs him from behind with his own sword. she was keeping an eye on him the entire time she was with him, and had now seen him uses all of his techniques. She claimed the sword, as well as the title Killer Frost. She takes his bloodstained headband, along with some other articles of his armor, after scalping his ponytail and wearing it as a trophy around her waist. It is on Aqualad's Missing Master Quest, that it is discovered that she has taken the apprentice...

Icemaiden- (Icepick & Icespike/ New Sword of Sommersa)
A royal of Sommersa, she has been sheltered, but was chosen by Killer Frost against the wishes of the Council of Elders. She is very nieve, and Killer Frost is subtly trying to corrupt her & turn her against everything she's known. Her training swords absorb energy(especially heat) to train for Iceweaving. When she acquires the Sword, her inexperience allows her to be swayed to choose the apprentice...

Freeze- (Icepick & Icespike)
A very cold and calculating boy. he is chosen to be apprentice so that the council can have control over the sword again, but he has his own sinister agenda. he is shown holding Icepick

Barron Blizzard-
Member the council, who persuades Icemaiden to take Freeze as apprentice for the good of the empire.

Terra- (New Sword of Lemuria)
After training with her brother Geo, Terra changes her outfit to be more like his. When Geo goes missing, she qickly gathers the cheiftains to offer candidates for apprentice. she takes all of them on in hand to hand at the same time and the last one standing is...

Sand- (Boulderdasher)
a bit egotistical, and mildly sexist, Sand figures he should have the Sword, but wouldnt dare to take it by force. he does frequently challenge her for it, and when she continually kicks his backside, starts making random wagers, with the sword as the prize...which he also looses. his training sword allows him to expell force at a great rate upon impact, causing massive destructive power. the sheer weight of the sword is training in itself.

Fire- (New Sword of Su' phala)
After finding her confidence at her master Siren's side, Fire dons some similar pieces of her armor when she acquires the sword. as is costumary, the women in the city are gathered and the sword glows brightest when it is near the next person to be chosen as apprentice. this time it happened to be...

Fever- (Ember's Edge)
based on the Doom Patrol Member Fever Pitch. very indoctrinated in the ways of Su' phala. she believes that men are only good for procreation. even tho fire had begun to adopt some of those beliefs from Siren, she begins to question them when she hears them aloud coming from her young apprentice. training sword allows user to concentrate energy into the blade in the form of heat.

Piranhha- (New Sword of Rhakotis/ Twin Arcblades)
it is only because his master Charybdis has a secret stash of riches that Piranhha agrees to go on the quest. he fully intends to find out the stash's whereabouts, then kill his master & keep the sword. he chooses Moray as his apprentice, who's training swords allow the user to manipulate the bio electrical impulses of target on contact, as well as amplify their own and channel into the blade.

Devil Ray- (NightSlasher/ New Sword of Dwarka)
Fiercely loyal to his master, Black Manta. he has no intentions on keeping his sword. he does not choose an apprentice to emphasize this. he carries both swords until he can return his master's to him.

Shark- (Breathtaker/ New Sword of Shindagha)
last time, i wasnt sure if this sword was his or his master Dolphin's... i've decided. the sword with the ribbon is the training sword Breathtaker. he is a very hostile individual, and it wasnt until he was taken into the order, that he began to find inner peace. he cooses Remora as his apprentice, although he also fully intends to return his master's sword if she still lives...and kill the man responsible if she does not.

Arion- (Lord of Atlantis, the Royal Capital City)
Arion was the 2nd born twin of two gods. Dainichi(a god of order) and Iki-Ryu(a goddess of chaos) fought for ages. during one conflict, they got close enough to each other that Dainichi caught her off gaurd with a kiss. surprised, she kissed him back furiously, and they began to make dangerously passionate love for days. after laying together, Iki-Ryu got angered at Dainichi for something and attacked him. instead of retaliating like normal, he retreated. he sensed the life within her and left her there alone, rather than endanger their offspring. he returned as she was giving birth. knowing that they could never live together, he helped her deliver the twins, and took the second born. he said that in 10 years he would return, and they would trade children for another ten years. she cursed him as he vanished with the child. 10 years later, they both returned to the spot with the boys. Arion had trained with his father, while his brother Kompera (Garn Daanuth) had trained with their mother. they traded children and disappeared. while with his mother, Arion was subjected to harsh treatment and living conditions. she treid to get the child to learn the black arts of magic, but he refused and studied his father's training in his head. 10 more years later they returned to the spot. Kompera was visibly disturbed. he screamed at his mother, for apparently they had struck a deal: he would kill his father, and she would kill his brother and they would be happy together. she told him he obviuosly failed since Dainichi made it to the meeting, as she always supected since he was a dissapointment. she sensed that Arion was potentialy stronger and held out hope to sway him to her. Dianichi prevented Kompera from killing him early on. he told him that his mother would betray him, and if he was wrong he would willingly let him kill him. Kompera lashed out at his brother for "taking away his mother" and she stepped in to protect him...dying as a result. this started the bloodfued. Arion would later become ruler of the continent of Meropis, which had 7 cities. Eventually, Arion's brother returned to destroy his brother's kingdom. with his dark magik, Kompera summoned elemental creatures to destroy the realm. not eing able to take them all on at once, Arion magcally crafted 7 swords. he gave one to a champion of each of the cities, keeping one for himself. each of them faced off with one of the creatures, and were able to extract some of its essence into the sword. they then attacked which ever elemental was weakest to the element their sword was imbued with.

The creatures were defeated and Kompera fled. Years later, he would return with a host of monsters from the depths of the ocean as his army. they attacked, and The Swords deffended. However, he was able to use his powers to destroy the continent, and begin to sink it. Arion crafted a spell, using the Swords as conduits, to turn the populace into seabreathers. Since some of the cities were submerged during the spell, their inhabitants took on characteristics of the sea life around them. Arion used his last bit of energy to relocate the 7 cities final resting places. he then disappeared.

Glace'-
Is the 1st apprentice chosen after the Sinking. Sommersa was near a mountains icecap in the water during the transformation. citizens thrive in the cold. he is shown holding Icespike

Chill'ah- 1st Sword of Sommersa

Gaea-
was never trained to be an apprentice, like her 3 brothers. however she saw all of their training, and trined herself. when her father fell in battle, he brothers were all slain as well. she took up the sword, and was the first undersea swordwielder of lemuria.

Aarden- 1st sword of Lemuria. The tribal city. they lived off the land.

Cellsiaus-1st sword of su' phala.
originally, the rulling class were all men, and made the women do everything, including defend them. after acquiring the sword, Cellsiaus led a revolution which put the women in control. near a scool of fish dunig the transformation. citizens have the ability to transform their legs into fins.

Kraykhen- 1st Sword of Rhakotis
the industrial city. when the tranformation spell occured, the blood of one of the sea monsters was in the vacinity of the city. hence their monstrous apperance.

Nondi- 1st sword of Dwarka
the city of dwarka was upside down during the spell. in its own shadow, the citizens have complete night vision and can operate freely in the dark. Dwarka was the seedy city...kinda like gotham to atlantis' metropolis

Mako- 1st sword of shindagha
the holy city. the priests and preistesses had developed a warrior class. mako falls in battle during the sinking.

Delphinoidea
...was in love with Mako, but never told him. the sword of shindagha is between them. their city was near a bunch of shark, dolphin, and other fish, hence their appearance after the spell.
