Description I tried experimenting with shading to get the different shades of darkness in Sombra's smoke-body, with mixed success. Additionally my scanner seems to have made poor Shining greyer than he is in the actual sketch, maybe he's developping camoflauge magic? Time to prove that it's not only Twilight who's good with magic. Anyway, happy birthday Andrew! (even if this is a little early, here in the UK it's just an hour or so until the 27th).
As ever, feedback is welcome - I am in sore need of advice!

Edit: featured on EQD's Andrew Francis' Birthday Drawfriend, thanks in part to EQD user 'dojorkan'.
Go check it out, there is some insane art in that post far outstripping my own simple attempt: [link]

Ah! I remember this picture from the EQD drawfriend article. An inspirational work, I say! Have a fav!

May I suggest a possible solution to the greyness of Shining Armor that you mentioned in the description? I find that selecting a particularly grey portion of a picture and adjusting that part selectively (usually through the levels adjustment or a similar function) usually works well.

It's not much compared to the inspiration your art brings me. It is the least I can do
