A great pic that you have done there.
Looks like she could have been a great Historian.Β

Guess the prop department forgot something.Β Blank sleeves are ensigns.Β Lieutenants had 1 stripe.

Yes, They kept calling her "Lt." but no stripe was an Ensign. Studio mix-up. The Khan saga was full of these. Like having him know Chekov in the movie when He'd never laid eyes on Chekov before. Chekov didn't come on board till season 2.

And it would have been so easy to fix. All they would have had to do, was swap Chekov for Sulu.Β Of course, the Studio didn't have anyone could do math either. In both "Space Seed" amd WoK, they said that the Eugenics war was 200 years earlier. When WoK starts, a caption comes up across the screen: "In the 23rd Century". Now, when I subtract 2 from 3 I get 1, meaning the war should have been in the 21st century- not the 20th.

Yes that would have made better sense.

Chekov wasn't a bridge officer before season 2, but he still could have been on board, and therefore Khan could have met him. It wasn't uncommon for bridge officers to have other positions prior to being promoted to the bridge.

that is true; Chekov joined sometime after the first encounter with Harry Mudd
also, according to the book 'To Reign in Hell; The Exile of Khan Noonien Singh', Chekov was part of the escort team that took Khan and his followers down to Ceti Alpha V

But in the "Trouble with Tribbles" They give the impression with that interview at the start of the episode that Chekov had just arrived on board not too long before hand.

EXCELLENT JOB!!!Β Β
"Β Not personally, Captain. Professionally. My profession is historian, and when I specimen from the past alive, I'm in the sheer delight of examining his mind.Β "Β Β
Madlyn Rhue does a excellent job as Lt. McGivers even if it is hard to believe her character would fall for Khan and commit treason so quickly.Β I was wondering can we blame McGivers for her weakness in not following her intellect, by letting her baser instincts dictate her actions.Β

While I also was dubious for how fast she went to the bad guys, there is also the fact that it was Ricardo Montalban and he is very powerful when it comes to charisma and screen presence.
