Description
After this one, I HAD to draw something about Paolo and Francesca. Paolo looks quite like Federico, doesn't he? XD
The text on the background comes from "Lancelot" by Chrétien de Troys, the novel that the two lovers are reading before kissing.

Noi leggiavamo un giorno per diletto
di Lancialotto come amor lo strinse;
soli eravamo e sanza alcun sospetto.
       Per più fiate li occhi ci sospinse
quella lettura, e scolorocci il viso;
(Dante Alighieri, "Divina Commedia", Inferno V )

You did this! And a redo of the original piece! And I love them both!

(Sorry, it's just that I literally just saw the original piece in an art book last night and loved it, although it was dampened by all the artist's in my family deciding it was a horribly flawed painting. So it made me really happy to find this again in your work

ahhh, I know of this story and so far I've seen three inspirations of this piece, one of them being a sculpture by one of the pre-raphaelites. Impressive!
