History:

--Summary: Dan was born in China, but had to move to Midorijima because his father's prescription accidently killed a governor's wife. He grew up in Midorijima as a normal kid. During high school he met Xia and formed a Rib team with him, but left the team right after he graduate high school. A few years ago, Xia got into Rhyme and asked Dan if he wants to join a Rhyme team with him.

Dan was born in Kunming, China, with the name Ye. His father was a well known tradition Chinese physician, his patients include wealthy people, celebrities, and even government officials. Because of his father's status and occupation, he lived a rather wealthy life.
There was a Kunming wolf dog wandering in Dan's neighborhood, it didn't have an owner. Dan didn't like dogs before, he thought they were lowly creatures with no intelligence. Since Dan didn't have many friends, he played with the dog when he was bored.  When he was playing with the dog one day, he decided to try acupuncture on him. Dan never learned how to correctly use the needles, but he was a smart kid. After watching at his father for so many times, he somehow know how acupuncture works. However, Dan didn't know how to properly inject the needle in, or where to inject. He ended up killing the dog. Dan didn't feel bad: the dog had no owner, it will get killed if it got caught by animal control anyways. He left the body on the street, he didn't want to touch it, he thought the dead body was dirty.

A few days after Dan turned 5, his father told the whole family they have to move to somewhere far away, probably another country, because one of Dan's father's patients, a powerful governor's wife, died after taking too much of Dan's father's prescription. Although Dan's father clearly gave instruction, telling not to take a spoon full each day, the governor's wife ignored the instructions. To avoid being arrested and possibly executed, Dan and his whole family fled to Midorijima and changed their names in order to hide from the Chinese government. Since Dan was really young, the sudden migration didn't have much effect on him. He lived in Kyuujuuminku and grew up like a normal child.

When Dan turned 14, Dan's father told him Dan could get an AllMate as his birthday present. As Dan looked through the AllMates in the store, he saw an Utonagan with red fur. The Utonagan looked like the Kunming wolf dog he killed when he was younger. Dan didn't remember anything in China, except he killed an innocent dog. The guilt suddenly kicked in, he wanted a way to compensate what he did. He bought the Utonagan, and named him Chi. Although Dan still doesn't like dogs, Chi is special, Chi is like his brother.

After the first day of high school, Chi went to his school and wait for Dan, wanting to see his school and how he is doing. When Dan walked out of the school, he saw Chi being beat up. Those people were wearing the same uniform as him, and looked older than him. Chi, unable to fight back, lied on the ground. Dan concluded he could not win them, he wasn't muscular, and he could not fight and win against three people. However, Chi was very important to him. Dan pulled out the needles that he carried in his pocket, and stabbed them with the needles. Dan learned all the weaknesses of humans after watching his father for so many years. Those people quickly became unconscious. Dan carried Chi and quickly ran away.
The next day, he was told by one of classmates that a senior was looking for him. Thinking that it might be one of those people he stabbed yesterday, he ran out of the classroom to avoid seeing that senior. He bumped into someone as he was rushing out, it was the senior that was looking for him. The senior asked him to go to the roof top to talk. He was really short, only up to Dan's nose. Dan thought that this senior couldn't possibly do much damage on him, and went with him.
The senior introduced himself, his name is Xia. Xia said that he saw his fight with three huge seniors yesterday, and was very impressed by his strategy. He said Dan fought in a smart way, and asked if Dan wanted to form a Rib team with him. Dan wasn't interested in fighting, however, being annoyed by Xia for three weeks, he finally agreed to form a Rib team. The team was small, it only consisted of about 5 members, but it was a strong team, they almost never lost. The members of the team used acupuncture needles as their weapons because of Dan. They learned human weaknesses and spots from Dan, and stabbed the needles into those spots to paralyze or even kill the opponent (accidently).
Once Dan graduate high school, he left the team. Dan could not stand the members using acupuncture as a way to kill opponents. He made Xia the leader.
A few years ago, Xia got into Rhyme. Xia asked if he wants to join a Rhyme team with him, and they can have fun like the old days, Dan said he will think about it.

"Yes, Dan. We read a lot yesterday, do we still have to read? I really am not interested in Chine-"
"Yes we have to continue reading." Dan smiled at Chi, completely ignoring Chi's hesitancy, and started to read the poem out loud.
