It is, of course, intentional that it looks like Pripyat. 
I love this S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Games too much.
But I know, Pripyat looks different, so it's just a reference to.

Ah, ya had me going. I know there is a Amusment Park near, I saw the dreary atmosphere and the Ferris Wheel and jumped to the conclusion. I read the previous comments and rethought mine.

No, i think it's not really pripyat, it looks like, but the wheel there is something different, the architecture, too...
But it's something similar happened here.
