Description Here we go.
I feel like it's been ages since I actually uploaded a PAINTING and not a PHOTO. My gallery looks like that of a cosplayer, not a traditional artist

This is an illustration of too women that go by the name of "Llorona". I first stumbled upon that name while watching the Frida Kahlo movie. There was an old lady singing this song [link] and I really liked it. Hence i looked into it.

The legend of la Llorona is very widespread in Mexico, Puerto Rico, central and south america and the like. It's a legend wth thousands and thousands of versions so if your interested in any of the original ones. Go ahead and look it up. I'm only going to tell the storys of these two characters bearing the name.

The Human one:
This pretty little thing is a prostitute, even though a costly one. She was once the highest earning one around, even. Headstrong and romantic. If only she hadn't been so damn romantic. She fell in love with one of her clients and she was stupid enough to think he loved her back. She believed it so much, she didn't even abort his child. Once he found out, he left her of course. She couldn't take it. Her mind shattered. She was locked up, together with her daughter, only sold to thoose who thought of her mad mind as kinky. Her daughter Libera, the poor thing, was mistreated of course. Her mother always told her how much she loved her, while she strangled her. One night, the poor child was barely 14 years, Llorona took one of her hairpins and ramed it into her throat. After that, she killed herself. Her mind was telling her this was the only way to be certain her child would never leave her like he did...
This painting is supposed to show her shortly after recovering from giving birth. She's still supposed to be the fancy prostitute, hence she is trying to look as beautiful and stoic as a doll. The red fabric is, as you might have guessed, foreboding her murder.

[In case your wondering: she is no geisha even though the hairstyle might remind you of one. She's no chinese fancy lady, either. Even though her dress reminds you of a hanfu.]

The rabbit:
Why yes, this one is called Llorona, too. She belongs to and you may go ahead and read her story over here: [link] .
I tried to make here look mad in an animal kind of way. It's a different kind of suffering, that's supposed to be more like "feeling lost", rather then "feeling miserable". Hope I got this one across somehow...

To everyone who read the whole text of this description: don't go alone! take one of these:

Medium: watercolour
Referenzes used: geisha hairstyle and the chinese hanfu, cause I didn't know how they REALLY looked like =9

Rat mal wer endlich seinen dicken Hintern zu diesem ultratolligen Bild bewegt x"//DDD
Arrrghh ich wollte eigentlich schon so viel früher kommentieren >//< Aber wenn ich die letzten Tage zu hause war, musste ich an ner superaufwendigen Commish zeichnen und bin voll nich dazu gekommen QQ"" Sorrüüü ;3;
