"Tie That Binds" chapter one page twelve.Speak of the devil and the devil shall appear.
I'm seriously considering redrawing the first few pages. Looking back, the coloring and backgrounds (or...lack thereof) are extremely horrible. I didn't have a full spectrum of markers when I created them. [EDIT 2/11/10] Hey, look! I AM remaking those pages! Hooray! [/EDIT]

Well thank you! Joey and Rose's pose was inspired by the Avatar (airbender) show finale! Sokka covered Toph in a similar way when debris rained down on them, and I loved the reflection of his protective personality in those short seconds. It's tiny little moments like that which help define a character... even in that smallest segment their personalities were fully exuded. What brilliant writers. It really inspired me to try to do the same. Sokka puts a lot of self-inflicted personal responsibility on himself for the care his crew in a rather exaggerated and big-brotherly sort of way. Jericho also cares very altruistically for those he loves (but he shows it in a different way than "macho" Sokka does). Even though he's just met Rose, he has a self-inflicted responsibility for her well-being. He's an incredibly caring and warm character (and easily trusting, which may get him into trouble in the future...), so reacting in such a way to protect her is just automatic.

Which finale? I think the only finale I've seen from Avatar was the finale when they attacked the fire nation... (The episodes I've seen of that show are so randomly picked, I barely have storylines straight. {XD; .....*might check Hulu XD* )

I really love the last panel, because the pose you drew Joey and Rose in, and their great expressions. I also liked the first panel. I'd have to agree with Anit these pages are so much better than the first couple of pages. I can tell that as it continues your skill is going to grow so much. With each page I find more and more things I love. Keep up the great work.
