It's no problem there was a time I didn't check my DA in over a year.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

Wow, there's quite a bit of detail in this one, huh? Great job on the fur and shading on the cat.

Thankies!^^ Yup thought...I drew every fur line on that cat and there is about 3-4 layers of detail for just the fur alone...O_o. This means that I had to draw a whole bunch of fur on the cat about 3-4 times. Fun yet not fun at the same time...

Oh wow! Would you look at how this turned out! I was going to comment on the other piece but then this shows up in my inbox! (ps, sorry I've been quiet. I've been tired).
The amount of detail you're getting into the fur and form of the creature and then the amount of detail in the woman are done very well! I also think you've been practicing your anatomy a lot... I can see it getting stronger here in both the creature and the girl! The folds in the bottom part of her skirt could use a little more direction, but it's nothing bad. (imagine which parts would be pulled down with the form of the body underneath). I also really like how you took the chance to try coloring this linelessly! Very nice!
Now, my biggest critique is going to be that it looks like you loved the characters more than the background. I see some misty trees back there, but I feel like they could have had a little more detail put into them. Not nearly as much as the main character, no, that would be distracting, but something to add a little more eye candy would finish this piece up.

Imagine, for instance, that you had those atmosphere layered trees in the background of this piece. They don't have enough detail to distract, but they would add depth to the image. A foreground, midground and background.
Keep up the art, Steph! I love seeing your updates!
Now, as a last word, I think you might REALLY benefit from studying this woman's artwork. She has BEAUTIFUL creatures and humans.
Claire Wendling.
She's a French artist who I've recently discovered and who is now possibly one of my favorite artists out there. Her book is hard to locate, but if you can order a copy online, i highly suggest it! She has some nudity in her books, but I think it's nothing you can't handle ! Mostly, it's the intricacy she has in the flow of the character. For instance, you have this beautiful flow going through the cat creature, which is bisected a little by the woman's upright position. It's not bad, as it's storytelling. Clair Wendling would make the entire piece feel like it flew right out the tip of her pencil in a constant stream of artistic flow. She has beautiful rhythm.

there's a few examples of her work.
I'll compile a list of artists I think you should take a look at. I'm slowly trying to acquire their books!

Thanks for the comments and critiques Chrissy!^^ Don't worry about not posting things for a while. I know you're busy with life and school and completely understand if you haven't got the time or feel awake enough to actively comment. I understand completely which makes me that much happier you took the time to critique this particular piece.
Alright, I'll try to pay more attention to the folds of cloth in clothes and stuff. It's still something I'm not very strong at (fabricating my own folds and such). I am trying though!!
I'm going to have to agree with you. By the time I got to the background I was a little bit done with the piece and seeing as how I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing, I kinda rushed it a bit. I can see what you mean about changing the trees used in the background and I'll change it ASAP. Haven't the time today, tomorrow, or even Monday but I'll try to get it changed up once I get an opportunity to.
I must agree, I do like her work. Thankies for showing it to me!^^
Again, thanks for taking the time to post some comments on my piece! I really appreciate it!^^

A great reference for learning folds would be the book Drawing People by Barbara Bradley. I still reference it for folds!
