Omg I really can't draw males D: Critique is more than welcome! I tried to use some reference but in the end I didn't and this is the result. Took me 2 hours maybe... I'll try with colour next time.Gotta start drawing guys! It's unhealthy to draw girls all the time, isn't it?

Very nice, I like your painting style here very much, the depth of field effect on the ears and edges works very well, really tightens the focus on the eyes and nose. all in all five gold stars

Very happy you like this sketch, although I still see I need to improve many things. And sadly - I am still poor with colour eh, I wouldn't be able to draw this in colour at all ^^'

Yes, colour is like a whole different world, I've been practicing colour tone from time to time with some still life paintings of things sitting around on my desk. It's pretty tough, but rewarding when something clicks.
I don't think you need to worry though your colour paintings are wonderful

your contrast is just perfect, really!
and for a male its really not that bad at all
maybe you could draw his cheekbones rougher and wider
and get more hard edges and wrinkles if you want your portraits to get more man-ish
but your highlights and volumes really are wonderful
i have one question, how did you manage to get your skin feel so real
what kinda brush do you use because i see a bunch of different brush strokes

Ohhh! Thank you, I'll try to focus on that when I'll draw another one
And about brushes: I really can't use anything beside round ones... I just do dots or strokes but I can assure you that there is nothing more. Soft ones look soft only because I used smudge tool after drawing strokes and so on. Round brush is my one and only love <3

Smudge tool can be tricky and destroy the painting so it's better not to use it
