I agree with ~beatnig about the eyes being overdone and it's because of the mask/makeup - it is too light to me, but is a nice idea.
I like how the blackened background kinda fades out in a cloud-like fashion. It's a really neat effect for the superhero? cat. I like how he (or she) has wings and I like the gold! It's an interesting effect.
This is drawn quite well, and only found one thing off with it. Besides that it's really really good. Keep drawing, you have something really good going on here.

Thanks for the comment - you're actually the first person to mention that. Overdone in what way?

they seem too bright, like they're sitting on his face... kind of like a batman mask. the eyes themselves also seem a lot more realistic than the rest of the cat.

I really like the theme that you went for here and the fog behind the cat gives a real mysterious feel. I think kit was a smart decision to fill up the negative space. That's something that I want to start doing more of in the future fr sure. I also like the face symbols. I like how yu even added a blueish gren in the mix. gives the picture a bit more pop from the background. The bling bling is also a nice touch bringing it all together while still allowing the kitty to shine.

I'm still struggling with the white. It's so bright - I feel I ought to go back and redo it, but then laziness and "good enough" rears its hydra head

I'm glad you like! Thank you for the comment.

Reworking a piece can give it new life and show you your growth at the same time, I wouldn't put the idea to rest just yet give it a try.

Very nice, love the Egyptian theme. Body angle is perfect, and what looks like stars in the cat's wings are a lovely touch. Backround is simple, yet effective. Good work

Beautiful! Like the pose and accessories a lot Did ya use a texture for the chain?

Btw do you start your art from scratch digitally? I almost always start from pencil

Thanks! For the gold, I put down a layer of regular brush, smeared it, then added layers of dabs with a sponge/chalk brush on very low grain to create the gritty texture. Finished off with a little bit of dodge and burn. The Ankh though, I cheated a little by using a texture brush.

Yep, I almost always dive straight into sketching things out in digital. I do use pencil and paper sometimes, but that's almost always just to block out concepts and placement in stick figures.

Sounds complicated but logical as well xP I barely use more brushes than a hard round pressure senstive in size and one in opacity

Ah ok good to know. I think I haven't improved my anatomy n stuff skills as much as my coloring because I switched to digital. I find it difficult to sketch, really sketch with details as well in photoshop. If I start from scratch digitally I always immediately use colors.

Glad you like her wings! They're the part that gave me the most trouble.

Again, thanks for the trade. I loved that owl cat.
