Description So here is a remake of the first inside page of my friend and my old TMNT fan comic. It really didn't have anything to do with the rest of the comic originally... I think we were just drawing to draw. I redrew my original panel with Raph kicking a Mouser to make more sense physically. I don't remember why I had drawn Raph naked originally... it didn't carry past this page in the original. I think it had to do with his TMNT Adventures Stump Wrestling costume, but I don't remember him ever being completely stripped in those books. I think at the very least he wore the pants when not in full garb. Anyway, I decided to make that appearance carry on throughout the rest of this remake.

It's almost impossible to tell what's going on in Carson's original panel. That will become a running theme for this remake, and the main reason why I decided to make some changes when redoing it. It will be mostly Carson's panels/pages that I can't figure out what's going on, but that's likely because I have the benefit of a few vague wisps of memory from my own art sometimes, and while I do occasionally keep in touch with him still, it seems like a silly thing to ring him up randomly to ask him about... especially since I'm sure he's given less thought to these after all these years. In any case, I salvaged what I could from the original to make it an actual scene. This was also the first appearance of the infamous "Carson Falling Pose",  as my brother and I called it, where Carson would draw characters falling in weird positions with like... both arms on one side of their body sometimes, or just straight up coming out of the middle of their sides. Again, we were in the third grade when we started these. In the remake, I tried to make the falling a little more physically sound.

I decided to go with action figure-inspired colors for all of the Turtles as a way to help differentiate them. I also had originally been thinking of the Wacky Walkin' Mouser action figure when I drew the Mousers originally, so I went a bit closer to the actual design for the remake.

The crowd shot at the bottom is actually a bit... well... crowded. I should have thought ahead and done each of the panels on their own page. Oh well, we don't do these too many times throughout, so it'll do.

The original panel can be found here for comparison: vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/t…

I wasn't initially sure if this was your original or "re-shelled," but I was thinking that's mighty good art for a grade schooler!  Still looks alright, given proper perspective too.  I'm guessing Raphael is "naked" on account of the Archie influence and that he was often wearing the black space costume in some degree?

Could be due to the Archie costume as mentioned, but he was never fully naked that I remember.

The opening sequence of Archie's TMNT Adventures #62?  It came out in 1994, so I guess it could depend on whether you had access to that issue when you drew this story.

That would require a time machine, I'm afraid. Comic was made in '93.
