Here's another political cartoon I've done about Michael Eisner's Disney takeover. Now most of my favorite Disney characters are ones who came around during Eisner's iron rule, so it's for that reason I formerly resisted joining Roy Disney's rebellion. That, and the fact that one of his guys thinks "Recess: School's Out", "Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time", and "Teacher's Pet: The Movie" all sucked, even though I know they were very good. (That guy also said TV shows don't need to be watched in the right order to make sense, yet I beg to differ.) Besides, I never let things like sequels and buying the Muppets bother me. So what convinced me to enlist myself in Roy's navy? Well, as you may have seen from a previous political cartoon and a wallpaper both by me, it's because Mikey put Jetix on Toon Disney's schedule for every single night, despite the fact that it's already been polluting the Family Channel.
But if I hadn't joined SaveDisney before, I'd join it right now, because of this reason. Toon Disney changed its schedule just last month, and although I prefer hearing Jason Marsden over the previous announcer (who I found very dull, by the way), I kinda hate this new schedule. Why, you ask? Because it's taken "DuckTales", one of my favorite Disney shows ever, out of its only daytime time slots. So now the only time I can catch it is at 3 AM (4 AM for those in the Eastern time zone), which I hate staying up late for! "Robbers! Thieves! Politicians!" That's why Scrooge McDuck is so pissed in this picture. Scrooge may be greedy, but at least he cares about his friends. Eisner, on the other hand, doesn't give a hoot what the fans want. (To tell the truth, I doubt Jetix and the bad scheduling is really Eisner's fault, but then again, everyone else seems to wanna blame him for Disney's recent problems, so why not?) It's even worse when you count the fact that Eisney doesn't want to release the Disney TV Animation shows in boxed DVD sets, even though Paramount, 20th Century FOX, Hanna-Barbera, and even DiC Entertainment (which Disney owned at one time) are doing just that now!! Forget those cheapo Disney DVDs where they just take an hour of old material and replace the title cards with new animation; we want boxed sets of "DuckTales", "Rescue Rangers", and the rest of the TV Animation gang!! For all the trouble he's going through with his animated show, Scrooge oughta be glad Gemstone Publications is now publishing his comic books.
