Maybe a tiny bit. It maybe looks a bit too edgy. You could try to soften the edges a bit or blur them. Motion blur would be good, I think. Just a thought. But all in all this pic looks very good to me.

May I ask what program you use for the compositing? I use most of the time Photofiltre Studio. It's for free and it's very easy to use and has very good layer options. May I suggest something? Make the biotic effect a bit bigger. Then set the opicity not to 100. I think 75 would be good and about the edges, use border effect/progressive contour and set it to 2 or 3. I think it would look good. The edges would be soft and the effect would be slightly transparent. Just a tip, ok?

I use PaintShop Pro 9, which is a fantastic program, albeit a bit old. It does everything the newest programs do, so I'm very happy with it. The layer is definitely not at 100% opacity! I think I usually set it between 70 and 80, depending on a number of factors. Sometimes I will even go down to 60 or 50 if needed.
The edges are blurred with a special tool/brush. And again, according to what effect I want, I can also use radial blur, motion blur, or Gaussian blur.
I usually make the biotics cover the entire hand and then sort of burst from it, but this time I wanted to do something different. I guess it didn't work as well!

Yes, sometimes one has to try different things, but it's not always worth it.

Oh, not at all! I just wanted you to know that we're on the same page regarding the tools to use for a better result, that is all!
And no, it isn't -that- bad, you're right, but I think I will keep experimenting to find better ways to display biotics, it really can't hurt.

With Google Translate I always have to sort of interpret what it says... this time it was: "And by the way, it's nothing to be wrong with it 40th." So I kind of got the sense of it, at least!

That would be amazing, because I fail a lot when I try to add biotic effects to my pictures. Funny huh, I fail, but I still give you tips how to make the effects. Silly me! I got to admit, this effect here looks much better than my attempts.
