So this is from the Bottom episode ''s up' which plays with themes om nationalism and rhetoric around English identities and points out how empty they are of meaning beyond a feeling of mere superiority. One of my favourite episodes, the jumbled quote reads: 'Well it makes us superior to everyone else because we know how to run a corner shop'.Mixed materials

Yeah! It's one of the ones that really stick out and resonates, not just because of the political themes and how they are handled (and continuously relevant), but also something in their relationship in that episode and they way they negotiate, Richie's optimism and Eddies pessimism and how they reach out to each-other to try and do something nice together, I love those brief moments when they get along really well and the sense that they have to fight for that well-being and they grasp on to it as it all falls apart ... (+ it's quite funny!)
