Description This started out as one of my daily sketches to get back into digital art after drawing only with pencil for a while and turned into a pretty finished painting.
Oh, and semi-realistic faces are hard to paint

It's a bit different from my other recent paintings, but I hope you still like it^^

Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

This is a very reminiscent piece of Munch and the later versions of :the Scream" - at first glance it looks like it solely a piece from a single random event, but that's not true. The expression used on her eyes and face tells a story of horror. The female is not in control of herself, but then shes not the main subject, she is just the patsy. The focus is on this spirit like snake, which seems to hold influence over her. She is paralyzed and unable to yell out her terror, and her eyes powerfully carry the emotion of her desperation. The tattoos on her skin, and her nudity imply she wasn't randomly taken over, but was expecting an event like this to happen.

I think you vision was incredible, as was your originality was certainly mingled in to your Technicality which I also think deserves highest mark. You did a great job with the luminosity, especially on the tattoo's on her body, and using the myst to hide her body while also evoking the feeling of possession over the subject. Obviously this piece deserved the 4 and a half star Impact rating. One Addition I might make is making the shadows of her face, especially around her eyes - darker, but otherwise Excellent job!

Hi, I'm here from ProjectComment

Awesome work with this one! Your painting technique is lovely, and you're so good at gradients and shading! One thing I really like about the brushwork on this piece is how you differentiate between hard and soft edges. The mist especially shows this, with the sharp edges on the bottom, but fading away on the top. I really like that style of painting! Another thing that I like i the colour scheme. Blue and yellow is one of my personal favourite colour schemes, and I love how soft it can look, especially with the aqua and navy that you used. Now on to the figures here. The snake is gorgeous, and as I said before, the mist effect is lovely. As for the girl, her anatomy and shading/colouring is very well done was well - the way you blended the blue markings into her skin makes it look very realistic! One criticism is about her ear, but it's very minor. Her ear appears to be mostly hollow, when ears usually have bits of cartilage crisscrossing them. I can see a little bit, but when the picture is zoomed out, they're very hard to see. If that's purposeful, that's fine, it's not a problem - just looks a little strange to me. My only other criticism is that she doesn't seem to have much in the way of facial expressions. Maybe the picture would look a little more believable if she looked more afraid of astonished about being surrounded by a misty snake-thing! Again, just my opinion, you don't have to take it to heart.

This is a really lovely painting, you have beautiful technique! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for this really nice critique, it was quite helpful :3
I'm happy that you like the colour scheme. It's a bit outside of my comfort zone since I tend to default to red-blue colour schemes if I'm not careful about it.
I tried to fix her face up a bit an make it a bit more expressive (I'm still struggling with expressions).
