Hahahaha that's fine!
The bad part of the exam is that I know that I'll pass, but only the highest marks with the most years of work accredited get the permament jobs, while the rest will remain on a list to work on substitutions and the like. I've only worked for 3 years so I'd need to make a flawless exam. Anyway, a good mark will allow me to get better jobs than now, so I am studying a lot. (There are like 79 jobs for more than 2k people!)

Hey there! I see you put a lot of time and work into it so I will try to help elevate it even higher. First of all there is a clutter of texture, what I mean by that is you do not guide viewers eye to the character (focal point) with the use of detail but drown him. There is no need for bigger contrast but the city behind him is very hard to read. Light enviroment is unclear I cannot tell where the light is comming from. You should always keep that in mind. Painterly strokes are very nice but you lack sharper edges that would make your character pop from the sky. His gesture is unclear to me, is he attacking? His intent should be more aparent and propably face, as his eyes are hidden we are only left with his smile to connect with and this poze doesnt convey to me why he is touching a spear with his foot and being all jolly about it
Overall great mood and monochromatic feel but I recommend to grayscale it and checking your values as they seem all too simmilar.
Good luck on your art jeurney!

This is type of comment that I love the most. It gives me so much hype to work on things that could be done better! Β I remember that in comment sections of my older paintings, people were telling me that my works lack details. I guess that I focused on this a bit too much since you are getting this overdetailed vibe.Β Β I wanted to create more contrast and many more shadows but I was afraid that it will take attention away from character. I was checking it in grayscale quiet often and I could boost shadows with curves but I decided not to. You see, I discovered that I'd like to stay away from pure black in almost every case. I wanted to make shadows purple, not black, so in the end I didn't boost shadows... Maybe in this case strong ambient light in different color would make a difference but again with this one I wanted to get monochromatic vibe as you've noticed yourself. And it just came to me. Maybe he should be much darker than the backgroun? I wonder if it would give it more readability.
How do I make intent more visible? I thought that hair, blindfold, bracelet, weapon aura and ropes would give him a sence of direction which he is traveling in. In my mind I wanted him to atack spearmans. He is pointing at target that he want to hit while smiling. And to hit that target he decided to bounce of a spear at the same time disarming one of spearmans.
Is it ok to change something now after so many people already favourited it? I guess that I could make few studies about contrast and then try to fix it... Or should I leave it as it is?Β Β

I think that showing one or 2 spearmans reaction to him would help, to show their fear perhaps. Contrast is one way to have detail. Maybe you can smudge stuff the further they are from focal point. I agree that staying away from pure black and white is great and you should contunue to do so. But we still dont know where the light is comming from or what time of day it is. You could go a little lighter in some placer or even make some of his magic weapon glow.
I think that this is finished and you should move to studies and maybe repaint it next year if you still feel interest in this piece. Im glad if I helped, goodluck~!

Well done! I like the detail work in the tattoos! So much more interesting when artists put their flare in rather than strictly follow the in game model options.

What a wonderful piece! It was well worth the wait. I love the idea behind it, the composition and the action you managed to capture. The favorite part has to be the palette you used! Welcome aboard and good luck in the contest!
