Description
The first comic! Lame, I know. D8 I wanted to draw something with weird/bawling faces.Hawaii was first annexed as U.S. Territory and then people began to campaign for statehood. Around the same time the statehood of Alaska was also pending while people in Hawaii were celebrating that Hawaii would be the 49th state, but were greatly disappointed when Alaska got the ok first in 1959 (both allowed statehood that same year).

Although I luv ur design but...some info is wrong. Hawaii wasnt exactly very excited to be apart of America. We were forced into it. In fact when the Hawaiian flag was lowered and the American flag raised the people mourned and cried. (I cant even tell u how much my Hawaiian studies teachers cry whenever they tell us that story) so (and this is just my opinion because I still love ur work plz dont hate meh) but many of my friends would think that Hawaii isnt exactly in terms with America, and more friendly towards Britan because of the recent years where he protected Hawaii and noticed it as its own independent nation. I mean....cmon the british flag in IN the Hawaiian flag. Again this is all just my opinion, and I still luv ur art.

hah? Why are we so clingy with America??? I thought the relationship was we take advantage of the incredibly stupid American tourists and squeeze as much money out of them as revenge for destroying our proud kingdom and forcing us to be a part of the nation that we didn't really like. (After King Kamehameha IV was thrown off of an American train because of his skin color, things were never the same.)
Err, I mean, yeah, we love America. I'm proud to be an American! Pfft. *died a little on the inside*

Actually, the Native Hawaiians wanted to be their own Country. But all the people who had moved there from the Central Continent (to have sugar cane plantations, I think) voted for statehood. I think some of the native Hawaiians are still bitter about it Today. >.>"

I don't know, living here makes me think that Hawai`i-san would be a bit more angry at the U.S.A. At one time it was fairly independent and gaining its culture back before the 'Missionary Boys' held King Kalakaua at gun point and forced him to sign the 'Bayonet Constitution', starting a whole mess of things until the Queen was dethroned.
