URA Monthlies: May 2013 - The Ahren Dor Stakes Endurance Race
This little lady was an exciting find. She has the dun factor from the Kiger Mountain band in Oregon. From her known bloodlines, we also know she has a bit of Sulpher Springs in her genes. We still aren't sure where she got her overo, as neither Kiger nor Sulpher Springs bands are known for paint patterns. There may indeed be a bit of South Steens in this girl - but we would need to do genetic testing to be sure.
When the managers of Faridoon began discussing selling some of their stock, Victoria mentioned that Wage Awar had yet to be shown. The managers agreed, putting her in the next round of sales. Charles immediately snatched her up before any other offers could be made.
We didn't know she was such a darling. She loves the foals and the children and enjoys getting attention from all the staff. When purchased from Faridoon she was broken to saddle and had wonderful halter manners. We have begun her in basic training in endurance, hoping to enter her in some events hosted by CFEndurance .
