but... why is the child naked ?? I am sure the parents could find some clothes for her/him. Impressive image of poverty, but I think the parents don't have a ..great character.

Anyone living in any rich country shouldn't be complaining about their life. Not even the poor in a rich country should be complaining about their life; at least they still have clothes and a home.
I hate when kids say, "Oh I can't buy that cuz I'm poor." No one should be joking like that, and it pisses me off how ungrateful and selfish people are. You aren't entitled to anything you have. You only have them because privilege. It comes down to exploitation really, and the corrupt and unjust economic system of the world.
Be grateful for what you have, because chances are, someone is being oppressed just so you can have it.

The cold hard truth is even rich countries have people starving and living in the streets. There is a very large chance there is someone in your town.

That's true. But even then, they have have a MUCH better chance of getting help compared to someone living in an impoverished country. I have a friend who was homeless, and even he said that even though he was homeless, he NEVER starved because he could easily find food in a garbage can. There is so much food thrown away it's not even funny. If you go to somewhere in Africa or India, many people can't even find thrown away water bottles with some water still left in it.

Fuck!! This is the type of things more fortunate people should see in order to appreciate how they live. Which means there is no room for complaning.

I read a comment you saw this everyday. May I ask what you did over there? Were you just a photographer or did you do some kind of work there? *just curious*
I'm a Christian who wants to live my life for God, and I want to spread God's Word through animated movies... atleast that's where I feel like God wants me to go right now- that could change though, who knows.
Anyway, whatever money I make from it, I want to give most of it away to countries in poverty. You know, if every celeberty/rich person that had over a million dollars gave away their money and only kept what they need, we could end world hunger or at the least make sure everybody got some kind of meal every night.

What really made this image stand out for me (and I'm not some kind of art or photography expert, so sorry if I'm wrong) is the colours. The image is quite bright, and when I first clicked the thumbnail I was expecting a happy image, and then the more I looked the more I saw and it just had a really great impact.

Poverty is the only kind of violence.
When millions of people die of hunger each year, it's not because there is no food for them, it's because they don't have the money to buy it.
Great shot, congrats!
