Another attempt to draw Jiraya - I have to work more on him to learn his features.Here, I drawn Jiraya with a kind of fatherly look, most probably looking at Naruto.
Stone texture on background from CG textures.com [link] , modified through several filters - mostly 'find edges' and 'sharpen'.
Applied a filter 'find edges' on Jiraya's colours to simulate a sort of watercolour XD lol, at least I did an attempt

When I look at this pic I remember the scene in which Ero sennin was looking at Naruto eating ramen together with him.. Naruto represents for him the hope for the realization of his dreams.. The main character of his book. The most important he wrote. The book represents a sort of biography which clearly shows his countinuous search for an answer when people lost all his hope for peace and brotherhood in the world.. We can find this answer when we never give up and fight together for a common good calls brotherhood.

Kinda reminds me of Depardieu. It's unusual seeing him in a mood like this but it suits him. I think eyes are a little bigger then they should be but overall its a good portrait.

interessantr questo filtro che hai usato...gli dΓ un tocco di acquerellabile!! mi piace molto, brava anche per i capelli...sono davvero difficili

Questo filtro è il 'find edges', applicato non a tutta l'immagine ma solo al layer di viso e vestiti (ultimamente uso un layer solo per fare i visi, ombre e luci le faccio direttamente sullo stesso), certo è che devo studiare un bel po' come e dove ammorbidire i bordi, perchè è ancora tutto troppo marcato per essere verosimile.
Hai ragione, in particolare i capelli chiari sono molto piΓΉ difficili di quelli scuri. DovrΓ² cominciare ad allenarmi con qualche capigliatura bionda XD

I don't know what makes me more happy - the picture of Jiraiya or seeing your pictures after a long time!

I've tried again to draw (and paint) Jiraya ^_^ I still need to work more on him, anyway I'm glad you like it
This kind of effect is turned out through a filter applied on one single layer, that one of face and clothes colours, it's not so easy to explain

E' il mio sogno, fare un acquerello digitale (chissΓ quante volte l'avrΓ² giΓ detto XD ) e devo dire che Γ¨ davvero difficile XD se questo Γ¨ riuscito meglio ne sono contenta, e spero di riuscire a perfezionare la tecnica ^^
