Description I'm preparing to do a large clayboard that will require me to scratch in fur, so I wanted to test out my fur scratching abilities on something smaller. I immediately thought of a cuuuute little mouse, and since it was appropriate for the project, and would make a nifty gift for my brother Steve, I went with it.

This is done on clayboard painted with india ink. I only use one scratch tool, which is a simple needle.

There's really nothing to teach! You draw a simple pencil drawing first, then scribble graphite on the back of it. And then you put your pencil drawing on top of your clayboard and trace over it to leave an imprint of your drawing on the clayboard. After that you just use a scratching tool to scritch away at the ink!

Not exactly...a clayboard is a sheet of clay with a thin layer of India Ink painted on top of it. You scratch away the ink with a needle to reveal the clay underneath. So you couldn't use it for block printing because if you tried to put ink on top, you'd effectively be erasing all your work.

KAWAII. I think the realistic style of it all makes it so...so....damn cool...!! looking at the picture, the foot on the right sort of looks like a hand. but nonetheless, it's very very well done.
