The Waves, part II fell into the waves and felt so alive
you would never believe I could want more
In the waves I stayed and fell in love
with how much I learned in this new
world
But then I thought I should try standing
walking on my own, let go of the waves for
a while, maybe return someday for the rest of my life
You know the jelly legs of leaving the tide, the rushing
in your ears and heart long after you have left the waves,
it seeps into your soul after a while
These are in my thoughts, as I wait for
the seawater to drain from my heart,
a rolling drying sandpaper in the back
of my throat, for the sound of seagulls and waves to cease
crashing into me
I fell in love and felt the ocean take me away
and then I didn't know how to ask
the waves
to take hold of my shivering frame
even if not forever
