Night elven mages are rather uncommon. 10000+ years ago Malfurion Stormrage exiled Kael'thas' great great grandfather Dath'remar Sunstrider and the mages from Kalimdor for stirring the arcane storm to force the druids to lift the ban. The latter then established the Thalassian kingdom as well as changed physically and mentally.
