Description
V&O 1000 (Ex-V&O 270 EMD GP8 Rbt from GP7). Rebuilt by ICG’s Paducah, Kentucky Shops this GP7 would be rebuilt as a GP8 along with two other locomotives formerly numbered 270, 272, and 274. The trio of GP8s would serve on the V&O until 2008 when it was retired and sold to neighboring shortline KC&B where they were renumbered to KC&B 70 thru 72 where they are in service today.
