To a blurry insignificance
All you see are the bars
Constraints? Restraints?
Let's agree on frames
For your view.
I imagine a passing
It ends the struggle, completes an arc,
Leaves much unseen by the seer;
The viewer's inversion of perspective
Places them at the center.
In truth the world, fading to blackness,
As the perennial late hurry home,
While, in the background,
the ocean recounts its day
In a rhythmic supplication to the shore
Will always outweigh the cares
Of a single fallible soul.
