I did this piece for the conceptart,org CHOW #275Unfortunately, I didn't see that the deadline was GMT(Grenwich Mean Time) so, I didn't get it in on time...Lame cus I worked on it all day to get it done.
Anyways, it's based on Rada Erzulie, which is a Haitian/African/Voodoo spirit of love.
Most people seemed to be going in a hot voodoo direction and so I didn't, or at least not the traditional dark direction people associate with voodoo.
I went more spiritual and which from my study is more what she is. I incorporated the colors associated with her and symbology like the heart, dove, and white lily. I also did not make her 'western' hot and went with more of what would come across as a still beautiful but more matriarchal interpretation.
It was fun even though in the end a bit of a futile exercise.
