This is absolutely beautiful.
If it is alright with you, I would like to use this as a character image for one of my DnD 5e characters. A Dragonkin Warlock.
I found the image in a Google image search and wanted to make sure that the original artist got the appropriate credit.
Thank you.

Thanks, No-Nami for creating a Dragonborn with look of genuine pathos to him! I did my own sketch of my character (a Dragonborn with a past that parallels Sandor Clegane's in Game of Thrones) and my dungeon master insisted my own sketch wasn't good enough. I had go online and find a new one for him. Yours was so perfect for me I felt you deserved at least a thank you note! Great work!!

Nobody wants to do stock art for the Dragonborn, this is very sad.

I know. It doesn't have any type of Creative Commons license attached to it.

I always attach that to my art.

This just came up in my deviation stack from #Fantastical-Fantasy and I must say that it is absolutely brilliant. You have an awesome use of colour in this, along with the texture of the skin and highlights...everything looks spot on with the exception of maybe the texture of the leather jerkin - it looks like you poured your texturing into the creature's skin (and did a brilliant job of it!) but left the jerkin as a sort of afterthought. Though with the highlights on it, it almost wants to be suede without a grain.

Overall, this piece is brilliant (even for a side-view portrait). Proportions are great, and the feeling is one of vibrancy. Absolutely love it!

Thank you for sharing this with the community, and sorry I didn't see it before to fav then Hope that I'm able to reach this level of ability at some point.

Thank you,

Tal

Haha my command of textures is still wanting, I know, but it's something I hope to master soon.

Thanks muchly for the fav and the constructive comment - it is very much appreciated. ^.^

Not at all, I don't think you lack anything in the texture department....I think you just do the same thing we all do - focus on one part because it's the one that excites you the most, the thing that totally blows your wheels and makes you grin like a madman on the inside. The texture on the skin is great. The use of the little highlights and dark spots really make the creature pop. The leather is obviously the part you weren't focussing on. I think that if you step back and look at it for a couple of days, get some refs for the texture of leather, maybe something in a nice dark suede, the texture will come to you. If you're working in PS or the Gimp with it, if you could pull a layer mask over the area of the leather and work back into the colour with some underlying noise and some judicious use of a gaussian blur, I think you could get it exactly like you want it. Of course, please remember that these are just suggestions from a not-even-mediocre artist to one who obviously has a great eye already...

I really would love to be able to sit down for a couple of hours with someone of your abilities and just watch/learn/absorb how they put the colour to the canvas. I'd kill for some technical feedback from someone who does this

Thanks again,

Tal

For a "not-even-mediocre" artist, you certainly know great ways to approach these things. That's a good sign, I think. ^.^

I'm not usually one to remember technical terms, or even how to word such things. I'm more like the "here, I'll show you what to do" kind of person. =w=; I do some livestreams sometimes, where people can watch me paint/draw live, and I think that is a great way to learn. At least for me - I'm the kind of person who learns most by watching and observing. So, hopefully next time I have a livestream, you'll be able to catch it! ^.^

Thanks,
