Description Hey more Trias Court...seriously why am I so inspired to draw about this? Anyway this time it's about some side characters...and so I started with my favorites. While these two are linked to Dusk Chaser, they do not live in Trias Court. So here we have Commander Percheron and Princess Flor. 2 decades or so before the main story Utopia and Terra, kingdoms in Equestria, came under threat by a Diamond Dog invasion and so formed a tenuous alliance to protect themselves. After the threat was eliminated the treaty remained and the two kingdoms who were once populated solely by either unicorns or earth ponies, experienced an influx of the other pony tribe. To encourage this peace the two kings came up with an idea. For 3 months of each year, they would send one of their children to the other kingdom to learn and live, and then do the same with the other child for another 3 months so that their children would carry on the good relations.
Commander Percheron: An earth pony stallion, he is the oldest son of the King of Terra, but as an adopted son he will not inherit the throne nor does he use his princely title. A strong willed and at times temperamental stallion, many at first meeting think he is an agressive and even intimidating pony, when in reality he is loyal and brave. As he grew older Percheron found that some nobles were plotting to turn him against his younger brothers, with the throne as incentive. To avoid this and prevent endangering his brothers Percheron instead joined the guard in Utopia and rose to the rank of Commander by his 21st birthday. He served the King and Princess loyally but experienced hostility from the nobles due to his Earth pony status. He is named after the horse breed.
Princess Flor: A unicorn mare she is the only child and legitimate heir to the throne of Utopia. Brilliant of mind and gentle by nature her subjects have always had faith in her ability to rule. Unfortunately this responsibility came early, when her father died unexpectedly when she was 19. While the council honored his ideals of peace, many of the nobles saw this as a chance to kick the Earth ponies out of Utopia and tried to curry favor with the Princess so that when she came of age she would do so. Flor however refuses to yield to their pressure but is powerless to stop there cruel attitude towards Earth ponies until she takes the throne. To better maintain the peace and equality within Utopia she begins laying the groundwork for an alliance with Trias Court, so that if worse comes to worse, her subjects will have a safe haven.
Pictures: In the top image we have Flor and Percheron. Percheron has just returned from a border patrol and unfortunately had a skirmish with Diamond Dogs, which resulted in himself and some of his forces being injured. Lord Enigma, a unicorn noble, takes the chance to accuse Percheron of conspiring against the unicorns since some of his injured forces were unicorns; never mind the fact that Earth ponies were injured as well, including the Commander. Flor is able to diffuse the situation but wishes that she could stop such accusations all together.
Bottom left: What no one, aside from some close allies and friends, realizes is that Flor and Percheron have been romantically involved since he was 18 and she 16. In the image we see Flor relieved that Percheron made it back from the patrol in one piece. The normally stoic Percheron can't help but smile.
Bottom Right: A kiss between the young couple before Percheron departs to make first contact with Trias Court.

First attempt at a more painterly style.
