Description The world of minecraft is home to very strange creatures. Among these are the so-called “skeletons” and “zombies”. Both of these are actually a species of highly evolved primate. Originally thought to be related to gibbons, skeletons and zombies actually share a common ancestor with such early hominids as Australopithecus.

Skeletons, or skull apes as they are more accurately but more rarely known, live in caves and only venture out to forage for food at night as their pale skin is highly sensitive to sunlight. Their diet consists mainly of cave plants and fungi but as these are such rare resources they occasionally scavenge or take down larger prey like cave spiders and have even been known to attack humans.
Skull apes are highly intelligent and have been observed copying human behaviour and even figuring out how to use some of their tools such as bows and arrows.

Zombies are closely related to skull apes but have gone a different path of evolution. These hominids typically suffer from a disease that is a heightened version of dermatitis, a confined which an animal’s skin rots while the animal is still alive. This particular dermatitis strain not only causes severe rotting and discolouration on its victims, but also causes high aggression as well as random body parts (typically the arms) to swell to several times their normal size. Sometimes this causes the arms to be held at a stiff, unnatural angle to the body. Some positive things the disease does to the victim though is make them impervious to pain, much tougher and sometimes even a bit stronger than usual. Strangely this corpse virus seems to affect more of the population than it spares to the point of “normal” zombies being almost entirely extinct. Zombies  are even capable of reproducing randomly and asexually, provided the reproductive organs are still intact.
