For all of you trolls who keep bugging me to cross hatch..I can do it, but don't like to. It's messy, harder to control, takes more time and is not my style..
Actually I started this to prove my point. Tho it looks pretty good, even I have to admit that
Medium: Orange Ballpoint (dunno it's a fun colour to work with)
Paper: A4 sketchbook paper

I applaud you for taking so much time to do this, you are very talented. The ball point pen really is a great tool to add details. The color orange does work for this piece. I'm not sure if this is what you were going for, but the orange gives the picture an old look(not a bad look). I mean that it looks like a picture from another time period, and someone found it and it still looks great! It gives the picture more of a backstory in my opinion, it makes me want to know who is that person, what is going through their mind.
The eye that we can see is very well drawn, a piercing gaze that attracts my attention. It gives the picture more mystery. Overall the face, including the hair are very well done.
My only complaint is that on the left side the shirt is very big for the picture. My eyes are drawn to that particular section because it's a different color than the rest of the piece. This takes away from the impact of the picture because I can't help thinking it's not fitting into the drawing. Maybe make that side similar to the right side which I really like because of all the details and the colors added. Or smooth out that side of the shirt more, don't make it stick out as much.
Overall a very nice piece, good job!

Thank you for spending time to give me feedback and to explain why you like or dislike certain aspects. It helps me as it sometimes point out things that I didn't saw before (or did but didn't know why it bothered me). In this case that would be the left side of the shirt.

the proportions in general are well done, it's only the hand who needs to be improved, but the rest is really well drawn, shadings, eyes, clothes, it's really well done and full of expressions it would maybe look better with a darker shade of crayons to make the drawing pop out more
in general it's really good, the only thing to improve a little bit are hands, and it's the hardest part to draw for a lot of people and me included
congrats on your work and it would be really interesting to see more

What can I really say... a few days ago I started playing the first PE game and ever since I feel like I haven't played a better game since Metal Gear Solid 1. So needless to say, every PE related artwork is making my pulse rise and this amazing drawing is no different.
So instead of just goshing like "oh my goodness, this is awesome, Aya I love you" etc., let me actually give it some critical credit.
First of all... wow, I don't really use the cross hatch. I had heard of it during my art classes a year ago and I was supposed to train myself in it, but I've never really been into it since its application is challenging to apply. Some anatomical features seem messed up, for instance the shadow beneath her hand looks a bit too overdone (then again you were not capable of limiting it if you had made a mistake). Overall the technique is really crude and in my opinion does not really fit with portraying Aya Brea. I think the shadow on her right eye should have been done more deliberately; it looks slightly flat in my opinion.
But in the end it does not matter all that much. Those minor flaws don't interfere with the impact your drawing strikes into the viewer and in general, if I did not like it, I wouldn't have decided to write this critique in the first place.

cross-hatching isnt the easiest art style to get into;
some people find it meshes well with their vision but others find it overly difficult and not fun to work with.
always play to your strengths, but work on your weaknesses... thats my motto.
you have done the cross hatching well, especially with only working four hours on it.
