Description
I got tired of my greaves wearing out my boots, so I added a leather edge to protect them. And I must say, I like how it turned out.It also turned out that stainless steel is an evil metal, eating up four of my 4mm metal drills.

With a ballpoint hammer, and a lot of swearing.
Next time I'll do the peening on the outside of the greave.

It's period to protect one's belongings from wear and tear, and I would say that you made a good job on that here. Stainless steel is indeed a real pain.
To make it slightly easier next time, put the rivets in the other way. That way you have ample space to fasten them and have the nice domed heads against your boots. This might of course already have passed your mind, but that is how I would have done.

Well done! I particularly like the scalloped edge. A word of advice from experience; consider gluing a strip of leather over the back of the rivets, they can cause a lot of damage on their own.

That would probably be a good idea. I usually hammer the rivets down with a rounded hammer, to prevent the sharp edges, but there wasn't space enough to make it perfect. I'll see when I got time.

Very nice! Leather and plate combined makes for a nice and authentic look, even if it's only to protect your boots.
