Just finished, a new cotehardie. Sewn by hand in felted wool, with waxed linen thread. Lined with dark green linen.As it is all handsewn it has taken me about two months time to make. Of this time, at least one month has been devoted to the art of buttons, and button-hole-making.
This is by far the piece of clothing i've been bleeding most for, literally, as i have managed to pierce myself with the needle about forty times.
I am so far very happy with the result, but it has yet to be tested. It's a bit tight around the shoulders, and in the right arm, but it will stretch with time.

Argh vad snygg! För mig som just och just kan lappa spruckna byxor etc är handsömnad alltid lika med ultrahäftigt.

Helt ärligt känns det skitbra, ända tills man är klar och undrar varför i helvete man la ner 80 timmar och nött sönder fingrarna på något som hade tagit en timme på symaskinen...

Fin! Fast jag kan tycka att bältet borde ner en bit, åtminstone till midjan, även om man till cottar väl ofta ser dem nere på höfterna. Å andra sidan, men tanke på den anspråkslösa färgen är väl detta en hantverkares dräkt snarare än ett modelejons, så då är det ju ganska vettigt att bältet sitter där det är praktiskt...

Jag håller med, men min bror som höll i kameran gjorde inte det.
Tanken från början var att göra en alvisk dräkt, men med stor utgångspunkt i historiska kläder, men vi får se hur långt jag orkar dra det.

Fast din bror som höll i kameran har ju uppenbarligen ingen koll på vad som är snyggt och inte.
Det låter ju riktigt trevligt! Mitt ex hade en sidencotte senast han alvlajvade, det är inte dumt alls faktiskt.

Jo, jag håller med om att det är ett plagg som passar väldigt bra till just den estetiken. Fast jag vet inte om jag skulle vilja ha just siden i skogen.

Memo to self; make sure button holes are somewhat bigger than needed. It is very annoying buttoning an arm where half of the buttons are just a tiny bit too big to fit easily in the holes...

Thank you! Yes, it is quite comfortable, but it will become better after wearing for a time, when it has softened up a bit.

I should make a cotehardie as well, but need to find wool first, and a pattern.. and become better at sewing.
